About Me ✿❀✿❀

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I studied journalism with a specialization in strategic communication at Indiana University- Bloomington (IUB). While at IUB, I also minored in Spanish and marketing and received an honors certificate from the Liberal Arts and Management Program. I graduated in May 2022 Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Gamma of Indiana Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and the Indiana University Chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha.

During my undergraduate studies, I was involved in the Beth Woods Chapter of PRSSA, Women in Media, Student Leaders in Civic Engagement, and the Jill Behrman Color the Campus 5K (JB5K) Student Steering Committee.

My greatest participation was in the Jill Behrman Color The Campus 5K Student Steering Committee, where I began my involvement as a Promotions and Recruitment member and ended as the Co-Chair. For my dedication, I was given the JB5K Outstanding Committee Member award in 2022.

I also spent the summer of 2021 completing PR Council’s Agency-Ready Certification.

My professional career in Bloomington began with a public relations internship at My Sister’s Closet of Monroe County (MSC) in May 2021. I continued this internship during the fourth year of my undergraduate studies by contributing to the social media accounts (including creating TikTok content with other interns), creating print materials on programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva, and helping out with in-store operations and design.

After I graduated, I was offered the role of boutique manager throughout the summer of 2022. On top of my roles with their social media, I was also in charge of resale pricing, providing client services, and managing volunteers, interns, and employees.

When I moved back home after graduation, I continued my involvement with MSC as the Social Media Marketing Manager. In this role, I was in charge of MSC’s social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly known as Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, and Alignable. During this time, I became more familiar with Meta Business Suite and received a LinkedIn certification in Asana. After 10 months in this role, I was promoted to Marketing Director.

From May 2023 until the beginning of March 2024, I planned, executed, and analyzed social media channels. I also mentored marketing interns, created marketing manuals and brand identities for the nonprofit, and worked on WordPress to develop consistent language on the website. I also undertook the role of the Executive Board Interim Secretary from July 2023 to February 2024. As Interim Secretary, I created agendas and meeting minutes and maintained consistent communication throughout the board.

In my last couple of months at MSC, I also maintained a secretarial role in the Event Planning Committee for their 25th Anniversary Gala. I also filmed and edited a client video exclusively shown at the event, and was in charge of AV during the event.

I am looking to continue my career in marketing and strategic communication. Additionally, I am available for freelance opportunities in social media content creation.
